Camelot Cinemas

Camelot Cinemas is a great experience! Tickets and food are substantially less than regals. The theaters have plenty of space and the chairs are very comfortable to lounge in during the movies. I highly recommend coming here. The movie selection may be smaller than some of the bigger movie places but it is well worth it. Kids and adults movies something for the whole family each time I go.

No need to venture out to the larger theaters when we have Camelot not far from home. The seating is not stadium-style, and that concerned us on our first visit, but we quickly realized that the views of the screen were still perfect. I say this for my husband, myself, and our teenaged daughter. I'm not sure how it would be with small children. Either way, the clean facility, THX certified sound, excellent customer service, and right-sized concessions with appropriate prices keep us going back over and over. Many other theaters have excessively large drinks and popcorn with prices to match, but Camelot has this perfected as well. I almost hesitated to write this review because this neighborhood gem is one of the best kept secrets in Greenville!

Surely some of the many five star reviews are fake. This was my first time here, so I can’t speak for the other theaters, but theater 6 is hardly inclined, making it difficult to see the screen over the chairs in front of you. I had to let my daughter sit in my lap so she could see, and had a taller person been sitting in front of me, I may have needed a lap to sit on myself. Secondly, the seats do NOT recline. I have seen other reviews saying that they do, which is the only reason we chose this theater over others in the area, but I can now confirm that they do not. They do somewhat rock and can push back about 3 inches, but they do not recline like conventional movie theater recliners. Lastly, the popcorn was stale. The only reason I gave the theater 3 stars is because it’s clean and fairly cheap, and the sound level was perfect. I have been to some theaters that blast the audio, which can harm little ears, so I was quite pleased to leave without worrying about my children’s hearing.

The theater is a small business in Greenville so you have to respect them for that, but they are a bit outdated. The workers were clearly very busy and stressed on 1.14.24 because there was a large crowd and they were quickly getting out popcorn however the older lady at the register and the younger guy with dark brown hair both scratched their heads and messed with their hair MULTIPLE times while handling popcorn and opening popcorn bags by putting their hands all the way on the inside of the bags - ABSOLUTELY disgusting. They also had the nerve to up charge .50 for butter which is no issue but you could clearly tell the butter machines were empty and they were pretending to waive the bag of popcorn under the dispenser for 2-3 seconds max with nothing coming out of them. I’ll still to regal matinee shows which are cheaper and you actually get popcorn that you paid for without the hair
